Tourist Companies in Ba Ria - Vung Tau were the greyhound track is located
Let them know that you will boycott Vietnam if greyhound racing continues Remember greyhound racing in Vietnam relies greatly on the tourist trade to keep going. Contact the companies and people below and let them know that you think about the cruel so called sport of greyhound racing in Vietnam. With only one racecourse in Vung Tau, greyhound racing has not thrived in the country. This is what Mr Ronald A. Sultemeier, Chairman of the World Greyhound Racing Federation, said about the industry in Vietnam at the federations annual meeting held in Vung Tau recently. Greyhound
racing is a popular sport which is very competitive, but in Vietnam
the sport fails to prove that it is a competitive one Currently
in the world there is not a greyhound breeding and training centre
which is as large as the one in Vung Tau of Vietnam. Therefore, promoting
greyhound breeding and training for export is what Vietnam needs to
focus on. The prices of Vietnamese greyhounds will be very competitive
as the labour and other production costs in Vietnam are much cheaper
than in other countries which are main greyhound exporters in the
world market now such as Australia or Taiwan

letter I am writing to you regarding greyhound racing in Vietnam. I am aware that greyhounds that are surplus to requirements are being slaughtered. Abusing animals in the name of entertainment and then killing them for human consumption is NOT a tourist attraction and it will inevitably have a negative effect on your tourist trade. The greyhound racing industry has been in decline for many years especially in the USA where the industry has had massive financial losses. This is for several reasons, the first being that it has been recognised as a cruel sport and banned in many states in the USA and even more recently it has been abolished in South Africa. The
second reason is that by far more profitable ventures such as lotteries
and casinos have increased in popularity and attracted the public
and the tourist trade. Even in the UK and Ireland (the birthplace of greyhound racing) attendances are falling and stadiums are closing. Greyhound racing has become widely condemned in the UK as a result of the constant exposure in the media of the cruelty and deaths suffered by greyhounds in the racing industry. I will be boycotting Vietnam until greyhound racing is abolished.
Yours
