Sally says
"Our re-homing project at Kinnings Kennels is in trouble.
We have only re-homed one greyhound so far this year
and the dogs who are still in kennels, many for far too long,
desperately need to find a kind and loving home.
"They are safe and very well cared for where they are,
but they should be in a home environment.
"There are many other greyhounds who are suffering and
need a place of safety. As long as the dogs we currently have
remain in our kennels, there
is no more room to rescue others.
"I realise that you may not be able to offer a home, but
you may just know of someone who could. Someone you know maybe
considering having a dog and a greyhound maybe just the dog
for them. Please, if you can tell people about the rescue and
the fact that our dogs are desperate for homes, we may be able
to get the re-homing started again. We can then take in some
more greyhounds who need care and rehabilitation before they
too are ready for a home of their own.
"I
know that there are other rescue centres who have greyhounds
for re-homing, but we are a very small charity and the cost
of keeping dogs in kennels along with the vets' bills is financially
draining.
"All our dogs are vaccinated, neutered/spayed, microchipped
and wormed. We are lucky to be able to raise funds to meet these
bills, however, if the re-homing does not improve we may have
to consider the future of our re-homing project.
"Helping to rehome one dog would be a great help. I am
apealling to do all you can to make this happen. With grateful
thanks."
