BBC Breakfast News today featured a completely biased account of greyhound racing. It had interviews with Lord Lipsey, Irene Hazlewood of the NGRC, someone from the RGT and a female trainer, all individuals involved in the industry so a nice fat chance for them to spread their propaganda with absolutely no chance of redress from anyone who might be able to paint a more balanced picture.

Lord Lipsey said that there had been much to criticise in the past but everything had now changed and no one need allow their scruples about greyhounds stop them from going to the dogs, as there was nothing to worry about.

The female trainer huffed and pufffed about how the Seaham incident could have happened with any breed of dog and she thought the bad publcity that had followed in its wake was really unfair.

Irene Hazelwood used the word 'integrity' about five times in every sentence and said the RGT will be rehoming 4,000 dogs this year. (That is their aim, they've never yet achieved it!)

The RGT bloke said greyhounds make good pets. And that was it. Talk about one-sided.
