APPEAL From Greyhound Crusaders
UP to 600 racing greyhounds could be put down after Greyhound Racing
Victoria this week dashed any hope of keeping race meetings in Wangaratta
(AUSTRALIA).
We are therefore asking all our supporters globally to now take immediate
action.

International pressure is now needed to help these greyhounds as much
as we can so please write a letter to the following people. Please keep

comment: This is a great step forward for the Australian campaign against
greyhound racing ... it is important to remember that although in the
short run up to 600 dogs are facing an uncertain future, in the long
run the closure of this track will prevent the deaths of thousands of
dogs in the coming years.
It is also important to remember that the responsibility for the deaths
of any of the current racers will lie firmly with the greyhound industry
and a quote in the article reveals their casual lack of concern and
unwillingness to provide meaningfully for the future of dogs that are
no longer running If the dogs arent getting a run every
week, theres no point training them so theyll be put into
the greyhound adoption scheme. But
theres no way theyll find new owners for 600 dogs
theyll have to be put down.
